I’m Stefan, the guy behind Phoneframes, and before I started experimenting with my iPhone, I spent over 10 years as a cinematographer in the commercial and fashion world.
I shot campaigns for brands like Uniqlo, Mercedes, Globus, and Audemars Piguet, worked on big sets, big budgets, big teams, the whole deal. You can take a peek at my old life by clicking the button below!
Earlier this year, I hit a point where I needed a switch.
After a decade in the high-end production world, I wanted to get back to the fun of filmmaking: The creative part, the part that isn’t buried under gear lists, agency emails, and regular budget cuts.
So I paused my career, picked up my iPhone, and started creating the kind of content that actually excites me. I wanted my world to evolve around my own ideas, movement, light and colors again.
I started Phoneframes in spring 2025 as a “let’s see what happens” experiment. Today, it’s a community of over 200,000 people worldwide (writing that down still feels unreal to me..), learning how to shoot better videos with just their iPhones, or simply enjoying the content I love creating.
Now I’m taking everything I learned on big sets and translate it into simple iPhone filmmaking tips anyone can easily use.
You don’t need expensive gear to make cinematic stuff. You just need to understand why things look good. That’s what this website is about: breaking down shots, sharing real techniques, and helping you unlock the filmmaker in you, one iPhone shot at a time.
Thanks for being here and following my journey!
